When you install an application, the CygNet Client Installer creates a shortcut on the Windows Start menu and a directory for the application files on the local drive. Typically, applications are installed relative to the installation location of the CygNet Client Installer (CygNet\Clients).
Note: Installing an application creates a shortcut. It does not immediately transfer the necessary files. The files are version managed and transferred when the application is launched (started) for the first time.
To Install an Application
You can install multiple applications at once. Use the Shift or Control key for the multi-selection.
To Add a Shortcut to the Desktop
If you want to place a shortcut to a CygNet application on your desktop, click Desktop shortcut (as a standard user via the limited UI) or select Add shortcut to desktop (as an administrator user via the elevated UI). This ensures that you have the version-management settings, which are automatically built into the shortcut properties.
An application must be installed before it can be launched (started).
Once you’ve installed an application, you can launch it by using the Launch button in the CygNet Client Installer, or by using the CygNet shortcut on the Windows Start menu, or by clicking the shortcut on the desktop. The first launch of an application will require elevated privileges to allow version management to download the necessary application files.

Notes:
When running CygNet Client Installer/Launcher as an administrator with a elevated UI, you can double-click an application name in the Select CygNet Applications to Install list box to automatically install and/or launch the program. If the application is not already installed, CygNet Client Installer will install it, and then ask you if you want to launch the application. If the application is already installed, the application will automatically launch.
When running as a standard user with the limited UI, if you double-click an application name and the application is not installed, nothing happens. If the application is installed, the application will launch. See CygNet and User Account Control for more information.
